Visionary
Bill F is the visionary of The BikeChair product and originally designed this product as a way of maintaining outdoor dates with his wife Glad, who had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. His vision is to see other families blessed with the ability to get their loved ones outdoors again, as he had been. Glad has now left this world, leaving Outdoor Smiles even more determined to get this product out to families who need it.

Bill V and Deb, the son-in-law and daughter of Bill F and Glad, have been working collaboratively for a number of years to try and get The BikeChair project into production. This has included exploring dozens of possibilities and dead ends, attending the Taipei International Cycle Show in pursuit of contacts, and meeting wonderful people within the bicycle and disability services industry. Bill V and Deb reside on the Sunshine Coast, Australia, where they operate a small family business. Having experienced the difficulties associated with Alzheimer’s disease and now being in communication with hundreds of families in medically-challenging circumstances, Bill V and Deb have a real heart and desire to see others benefit from The BikeChair.
Joshua & Johanna

Josh is the son-in-law of Bill V and Deb and lives with his wife Johanna and their daughters in Brisbane, Australia. Josh is in his twelth year of secondary school teaching and is currently focusing on the subjects of Design and Technology. Josh is overseeing the behind-the-scenes administration of The BikeChair and has been able to bring innovative industry ideas. Johanna is the wife of Josh, daughter of Bill V and Deb and granddaughter of Bill F and Glad. We’re a family company alright! Johanna trained and worked as a Special Needs teacher and is passionate about facilitating new and exciting experiences for people with disabilities to share with their loved ones. She is currently on maternity leave and loving being able to invest time into the marketing of The BikeChair as we prepare to distribute nationally and internationally. Johanna is the friendly face behind info@thebikechair.com and would love to hear from you!
Jon and Hannah
team members
Jon is the son of Bill V and Deb, grandson of Bill F and Glad. He is currently a physiotherapist and passionate about rehabilitating patients to ensure their highest quality of life is preserved. Jon brings managerial skills to The BikeChair team, and provides industry advice on catering physically for people with disabilities. He and his wife Hannah, a doctor, currently reside in the United Kingdom.
